Hi I am Keenan! I was born in Portland and moved to Hood River when I was 3 months old. I have travelled around the U.S. with my dad or mom.
One thing I noticed when I travelled away from the west coast is the trees are so much shorter than we see in Oregon! At first I thought the weather here was better for tree growth. Then I found out that ALL the old growth trees in the U.S. are in CA, WA, or OR! ALL the others except a few (literally!) have been cut down.
I am proud to call Hood River home. We have it all, lots of rivers and nearby lakes, mountains, and BIG trees. It is a great environment to live in and I want to do my part to keep it great.
